IEC Q4 Capital Market Update, Midterm Election Round-up
Last week we gathered in one of the most beautiful buildings and views Orange County has to offer. Scott Lopez of U.S. Trust, co-hosted the IEC on the 19th-floor conference room of the 520 tower in Fashion Island (Newport Beach). It was an awesome night of forecasting the global, national and local economy – U.S. Trust predicts “no recession” for the next 4-6 quarters, offering IEC members an optimistic perspective on the economy. However, there were many collective experts from the bank anticipating a continued rise in interest rates, sparking a potential slow down in real estate and other related markets.
Scott Lopez, Jimmy Sanchez and Thornton Phister provided 80+ IEC executives an inside look on Q4 capital market update, mid-term elections, the economy in 2019 and conducted an interactive Q & A. Some key takeaways Jimmy advised on was the U.S. currently has the strongest market it has seen in history. Also, for those working closely with China, he believes the sanctions on China will not damage U.S. companies involved with Chinese corporations.
Congratulations to our International Executive Council (IEC), Member of the year, Justin Pupero for his invaluable contributions toward the organization’s growth and sustainability. Our next event will be focused on Social Emotional Learning with experts in the field at Chapman University.
