Digital Transformation in a Blizzard

The impressive headquarters of ViewSonic Americas in Brea, Calif., was the site for a special event focused on current trends in Digital Transformation that are reshaping industry segments from the enterprise to education and gaming.

Jeff Volpe, President of ViewSonic Americas, welcomed the assembled guests and presented an overview of the company’s strategic direction, mission and values, target markets, evolution from a commodities supplier to a technology solutions provider, and a strong record of growth.

Throughout his presentation, Volpe emphasized the need for interconnecting multiple locations and devices, which continues to drive innovation in the market for visual solutions. Within this space, ViewSonic “transforms” itself through hardware, software and service solutions.

He then hosted a tour of the company’s production demonstration areas for projection systems, desktop monitors, commercial displays and advanced interactive, flat-panel displays designed to boost collaboration and productivity.

Following the tour, Volpe was joined by Michael Morhaime, founder of Blizzard Entertainment, for a wide-ranging discussion moderated by Gloria Lee, Partner at the Rutan & Tucker law firm. It was a highly informative and interesting opportunity for Volpe and Morhaime to offer their perspectives on topics including how their childhood experiences prepared them for success, their individual paths to their chosen professions, the approach they take to organizational leadership, the current and future state of technology, and more.

Volpe noted that the challenges for ViewSonic and other companies developing technology solutions include delivery mechanism capacity as well as infrastructure integration in both the B2B and B2C spaces. When asked what guiding principles helped them lead their companies, Volpe and Morhaime focused on the importance of a having a long-term purpose and vision to provide clarity for all employees along the way to making great products.

At the conclusion of the event, IEC members were presented with a ViewSonic desktop monitor in appreciation for their attendance.
