Ben Drutman serves as President of the Ronald M. Simon Family Foundation, where he plays a vital role in advancing the Foundation’s mission to support underserved communities in Orange County. In his capacity, he oversees the development and implementation of various programs aimed at extending the Foundation’s outreach.
Previously, Ben held the position of Executive Director for the Simon Scholars Program, which prepares students who are facing difficult life and economic circumstances to excel academically and socially through high school, college, and into their careers. Through his experience, Ben has witnessed the profound impact of well-managed organizations in effecting positive change, fueling his unwavering dedication to creating opportunities for individuals facing adversity.
Leveraging his extensive expertise in organizational management and passion for making a difference, Ben is driven to collaborate with like-minded leaders to build a brighter future for all. Before entering philanthropy, he gained a decade of experience in the hospitality industry, where he successfully established, operated, and eventually sold multiple Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt franchises in North County, San Diego.
Ben holds a Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Management and is completing an Executive MBA at the UCI Paul Merage School of Business. He has also obtained certificates in Nonprofit Finance and Product Strategy from Cornell University and Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management, respectively. Ben actively serves on the Board of Directors for Orange County Grantmakers and the Ronald M. Simon Family Foundation. He resides in Orange County with his wife and two young children.
